Don’t be fooled.  There is only two (2) lenders financing property for Foreign Nationals purchasing property in Mexico!  Everyone else is just a Mortgage Broker.
In the Cancun-Playa del Carmen-Riviera Maya Caribbean Strip, we have seen just about every Lender and Mortgage Company there is come and go. From Lenders such as GE Money and IMI, to mortgage companies such as; Wall Street, Conficasa, Finance North America, Colonial Mortgage, Mortgages in Mexico  and now MexLend. 
The problem outside from the fact that most of these mortgage companies are based out of the US, is that they come down to Mexico and hire somebody, “a body”, with no knowledge or experience whatsoever in the real US dollar mortgage business in their efforts to earn business and expect their hired “pseudo” mortgage brokers to deliver a closing.
The requirements and terms and conditions of getting a mortgage in Mexico are hard enough to understand for mortgage prospects to venture into the unknown with a realtor, insurance agent, or car salesman, that has never had the experience of doing a mortgage loan in the US.
Beware!  The experiment might end up costing you more that you expected.
