New Law Requires Real Estate Practicioners to be Registered Real Estate Agents in Quintana Roo (Cancun-PDC-Riviera Maya)

Chetumal, Quintana Roo, May 29, 2014.  State Representatives on the House of Representatives at the State of Quintana Roo (Cancun-PDC-Riviera Maya are included as Regions of the State) have approved new laws and reforms which would benefit state residents and foreigners, and would translate into: legal certainty to real estate investors, reinforcement of a democratic culture, legal transparency and more efficient procedures.

During the Ordinary Session No. 33 on the floor of the State Congress, the members of the XIV Legislature approved the new Law for Real Estate Services in the State, which now provides legal certainty to citizens (and foreign) investors involved in the purchase and/or sale of real estate, by virtue of setting up new standards of ethics and quality of services, thus eliminating any risk to the end-user might incur due to poor service of the real estate intermediary that might put at risk their investments and personal finances in Quintana Roo.   A State Registry of Real Estate professionals and certification by the dept. of the Secretary of Urban Development and Real Estate (la Secretaría de Desarrollo Urbano y Vivienda - Seduvi) will be required for Real Estate Practitioners, upon the enactment of said law.
